Meeting the needs of our local communities.


The heart of Cross Timbers has always been to serve our communities.     Meeting the needs of those locally is just as important to us as meeting the needs of those around the world.  It may look a little different ineach of our communities but the heart behind what we do does not change.  We strive to engage the families of our towns right where they live.  We firmly believe the local church can positively impact communities.  As our local communities began to grow and expand, we began to see needs arise in the daily lives of those that called our towns home.    We are honored to serve our local communities in the following ways:


Community First Argyle

Adopt a School

  • Adopted 575 staff members in Argyle IDS and Liberty Christian Schools with the help of 30 volunteers to assemble gifts, write encouraging notes, and pray for school staff and administrators.

Angel Tree

  • Meeting the needs of hundreds of local children by providing gifts and clothing items during Christmas.

Back to School Drive

  • Cross Timbers smilie provided 729 backpacks filled with $7500.00 of supplies for students in need at our local schools.

Coat Drive

  • 1,600 new and gently used coats were collected for those in our community in need of a warm jacket.

Fix My Ride

  • 55 Serve Team members volunteered to repair 29 cars at no cost to the owners.  

Lionheart Children's Academy

  • In August 2017, Cross Timbers will begin our partnership with Lion Heart Children's Academy.  This will allow families an opportunity to thrive and grow in an environment unwavering in its commitment to excellence in all aspects of early learning.  Learn More

Soar Music School

  • Soar Music School is a ministry minded music school that offers music lessons for any style of music.  Students are able to record their music, make videos, play concerts and more as a regular part of their school experience. Learn More

Town of Argyle Community Egg Hunt

  • Partnering with the Town of Argyle as well as other local churches to execute yearly egg hunts with over 2,000 people in attendance.

Community First Denton

Angel Tree

  • Partnered with 2 elementary schools to provide food, clothing, and gifts to over 20 families.

Back to School Drive

  • Partnered with Eves and Wilson Elementary Schools , Krum and Calhoun Middle School, and Denton High School to provide 350 students with school supplies.  We also distributed gifts to 120 teachers in those schools.

Big C Christmas

  • 96 Serve Team members volunteers completed 17 community service projects including a visit to Cook Children's Medical Center, community clean up with World Relief, and volunteered at Community Storehouse in Keller.

Coat Drive

  • 1,600 new and gently used coats were collected and distributed for those in our community with need.

Movie Night on the Square

  • Partnered with 5 local businesses and organizations to host movies nights on the Denton Square providing fun evenings for 1,000 students.

Community First Lake Cities

Big Brothers Big Sisters

  • Will partner with Big Brothers Big Sisters as a campus.

Easter Egg Hunt

  • Partnered with the City of Corinth to host their community Egg Hunt.

Local Schools

  • Will serve the needs of students, teachers, and staff to meet needs in our local schools.
